On this week, I brought on my long-time friend Aaron Jacobi to break down the new Batman film, directed by Matt Reeves. We discuss the characters and directors storytelling choices in grave detail and also try to convince you that Cinematic Breadcrumbs should have a recurring series where Aaron joins and we just keep talking about Batman.
Specifically we take a look at The Riddler, The Penguin, Batman & Catwoman in all their various on-screen adaptations, the Batman universe origin stories, the tonal change from the 1980s Batman to now, and why this Batman is the most relevant for audiences right now.
