Show Notes

This weeks episode analyzes the 1960's horror classic "City of the Dead," about one woman's' journey to Whitewood, New England to research the Salem Witch Trials, only to find that the witches are far from dead and gone.

I use this episode to give a brief overview of the Salem Witch Trials - how they started, what it was all about - and how this part of history has seen itself replicated time and time again, specifically looking at society at the time of this release (before witches were liberated in what we now refer to as the second wave of feminism) and instances that happened to Elvira herself in the 1980s!

Follow along with ELVIRATOBER movies by watching "Elvira's 40th Anniversary Very Scary Very Special Special" (on Shudder) and reading her memoir "Yours Cruelly, Elvira: Memoirs of the Mistress in the Dark" by Cassandra Peterson.
