Show Notes

This week on Cinematic Breadcrumbs, to end the COSTUME SERIES, I focus on the world of DRAG in a two-part episode in one!!

The first portion of this episode will take a look at the history of drag, including definitions, etymology and recent controversies.

The second portion of this episode - which starts at 37:18 minute mark - focuses on the three films: "Paris is Burning" (1990), "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" (1994), and "To Wong Food, Thanks For Everything! Julie Newmar" (1995).
These are three pivotal drag movies - either with top billing or top impact - and I break them down by their most essential moments with the brilliant writer and friend of mine, Katy Cardin! You can find her at https://www.instagram.com/slimkatyyy/.

You can find the episode notes at https://ingloriousbaguettes.com/2021/09/29/drag-queens-on-screen/ - where I have tons of photos referenced throughout the episode, full film list mentioned, and links to the sources and further reading.

Trailer that is housed in the episode is "Paris is Burning."
